Alternative singer-songwriter Ethel Cain shared the single “Fuck Me Eyes” from her upcoming sophomore album Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You, which will be available on August 8. She describes the new song as an “ode to the girls who are perfect and have everything, yet carry the reputation of town slut.”
In support of the new album, Cain will be heading out on an extensive tour around North America starting in August.
The Lemonheads have returned with the new song “In the Margin” and have announced Love Chant– the group’s first album of new material in almost 20 years.
In support of Love Chant, the influential rock band will be embarking on a North American tour this November and December.
Medium Build (the moniker of singer-songwriter Nick Carpenter) revealed the single “Drug Dealer” in June after the release of the 2024 album Country. Carpenter says the song is about “the universal loneliness that all of us share, about the universal loneliness that all of us share.”
Starting with a few dates supporting Tyler Childers, Medium Build will be on tour the US this summer and fall.
Canadian DJ and producer Bambii shared the new track “NSYNC” and its music video. Her new album Infinity Club II is out June 20 through Innovative Leisure.
“The dissonance between tracks is going to feel more like they’re oceans apart,” Bambii says about her upcoming album.
Metalcore pioneer Deadguy is back with Near-Death Travel Services– the band’s first album in 30 years. According to drummer Dave Rosenberg, the group was able to create “out of sheer force of will” after the Deadguy documentary Killing Music arrived in 2021.
The band is also playing a few live shows in July and August.
Indie folk newcomer Lily Fitts released her debut album Getting By in June. Fitts wants listeners to accept that it’s okay to not have everything figured out: “even in the chaos, there’s still strength, there’s still beauty in being vulnerable, and there’s always a glimmer of hope that can pull you through.”
She will be playing her first headlining shows in the US this fall.
Afro-pop/R&B artist Halima shared her new single “Cocoa Body” and its accompanying music video last month. Her debut album SWEET TOOTH will arrive on September 19 via drink sum wtr.
“My cousins, my friends, artists I love and trust. We built it together”, Halima says of the new track. “It’s rooted in queer nightlife, softness, and the beauty of everything Black.”
Irish death metal four-piece Malthusian announced the release of The Summoning Bell on August 8. According to vocalist/guitarist Matt Bree, the new album was inspired by Samuel Beckett’s play Happy Days.
“A lot of it fell into the idea of that when you set your intention, you find stuff right there waiting for you; things present themselves if you’re looking for them,” Bree explains.
LA-based Ana Luna premiered her new track “Daddy’s Empire” from her upcoming album.
The pop/rock singer-songwriter says of the relationship that inspired the song: “he couldn’t see what needed to change, and I couldn’t make him see it. That’s where the heartbreak really lived. This song holds space for that frustration, but also for the truth that we were both still growing. There’s no villain here.”
Indie rock act t-minus unveiled the second single “Flashpoint / Apple” from the forthcoming album Convenience in Understanding, which will be released on July 25. The band recorded, produced, and engineered the debut LP over a span of two and a half years.
